Distance & Time Estimates: 435km south west of Kampala (6 hour drive).
Queen Elizabeth National Park has more mammals than any other Ugandan
park and a diversity of ecosystems (acacia grasslands, papyrus swamps,
rainforest, and volcanic crater lakes) to thrill any naturalist. The Ishasha
sector of the park is home to a famous population of tree-climbing lions.
The 100-metre deep Kyambura River Gorge is the setting for an excellent
game walk to see habituated chimpanzees. Queen Elizabeth National Park is
1,978km² park is bordered to the South West by Lake Edward and to the
Northeast by Lake George with the Kazinga Channel connecting the two.
High on a peninsula overlooking the Kazinga Channel between Lakes Edward
and George, Mweya Lodge has one of the most beautiful views in Uganda and
a feel of true African Wildlife. The lakeside location of the luxury Jacana
Safari Lodge is impressive and ideal for visiting all the northern and southern
sectors of the park.
Itinerary:
Day One: Kampala- Queen Elizabeth National park
Morning; Depart Kampala early morning for Queen Elizabeth National Park
via Fort Portal. Afternoon; Stop over for Lunch at selected Hotel/Restaurant.
Proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Enjoy a good panoramic view tea
plantations and Rwenzori Mountain Ranges. Evening: Proceed to enjoy an
evening game drive through the National park.
Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge/Jacana Safari Lodge (High end),
Kingfsher Resort Kichwamba (Medium), Mweya Hostel (Budget) .
Day Two: Queen Elizabeth National Park - Game Drive and Boat
Cruise
Morning: At 61:15am enjoy a light Breakfast (Tea/coffe with a snack) and
depart for Early Morning Game Drive in search of Lions expect to see herds
of buffaloes, Elephants water bucks, lots of Uganda Kobs and leopard.
Return to the lodge by 10:30am to enjoy a full buffet breakfast at the lodge
viewing Kazinga Channel. Relax at the Lodge or go swimming at the Lodge's
pool. Lunch at the Lodge.
Afternoon; After lunch go for the breathtaking Boat Launch on Kazinga
Channel. Expect to see lots of animals and many varieties of birds at a close
range. The boat safari starts at 15:00hours and ends at about 17:00hours.
Evening: Return to the Lodge for relaxation & Dinner. Overnight at Mweya
Safari Lodge/Jacana Safari Lodge (High end), Kingfsher Resort
Kichwamba (Medium), Mweya Hostel (Budget) .
Day Three: Queen Elizabeth National Park- Bwindi Impenetrable
National Park
Morning; Enjoy an Early breakfast at the lodge. (Your Driver Guide may
recommend Packed breakfast depending on the days travel plan). Depart for
Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park via Imaramagambo Forest.
Enjoy a game drive in search of Tree climbing Lions.
Depart for Kampala stopping for Lunch at Selected restaurant in Mbarara.
Stop over at the Equator for Gravity Water and shopping for crafts &
souvenirs. Arrive in Kampala late Evening drop off at Hotel or place of
residence.
